Telstar 14

Telstar 14 ( Estrela do Sul 1 ) is a communications satellite of the Canadian satellite operator Telesat Canada. The satellite was launched on 11 January 2004 through the company Sea Launch from a floating platform in the Pacific. The satellite has 30 Ku -band transponders and supplies North and South America and parts of Europe. The satellite will be replaced in May 2011 by a more powerful successor satellite Telstar 14R.
