Telus

The Telus Corporation is a Canadian telecommunications company, headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia. The company was founded in 1990 by the privatization of state-owned telephone company Alberta Government Telephones Commission ( AGT) and provides various telecommunications services to its customers. The company operates from multiple offices and employs approximately 36,400 employees. The company is listed on the stock index S & P / TSX 60 as well as at the New York Stock Exchange. Telus is a member of the British Columbia Technology Industry Association.

History

Telus Communications ( Alberta) was founded in 1990 by the provincial government of Alberta to privatize the purpose of state-owned enterprises. In 1995, the takeover of the municipal enterprises Edmonton Telephones ( Ed Tel ) and thus made ​​Telus the largest telecommunications companies in the province. HSPA upgrade

Telus has signed an agreement with Nokia Siemens Networks and Huawei, a parallel communications network that was operated in parallel to the existing CDMA. The project began on November 5, 2009.
