Temmels

Temmels is a municipality in the Trier -Saar castle in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Konz.

Geography

Location

Temmels stands on the Upper Moselle, which forms the border with Luxembourg here. The village is located about 20 kilometers south-west of Trier, and is easily accessible via the B 419 The place has a breakpoint on the railway line Trier- Apach (France).

Climate

History

On July 20, 1946 Temmels was attached together with a further 80 municipalities in the counties registers and the Saar castle on February 16, 1946, separated from the rest of the French occupation zone Saarland. On June 8, 1947, this French territorial expansion was taken back down to 21 municipalities again so Temmels came to the 1946 newly formed state of Rhineland -Palatinate.

  • The Catholic parish church of St. Peter was 1861/62 built at the former edge of the village in a neo-Gothic features.
