Lightning (OT: Tempest ) is a romantic drama film by Sam Taylor, Lewis Milestone and Viktor Tourjansky from 1928 based on a story by Vladimir Ivanovich Nemirovich -Danchenko. John Barrymore, Camilla Horn and Louis Wolheim play the lead roles.
Action
In the last days of the Russian Empire, a small farmer rises to the rank of lieutenant. The other officers, all of them aristocrats, begrudge him this and therefore make him a hard time. He falls in love with a princess, but despises him. When he is caught in her room, he is demoted and thrown into prison. With the beginning of the subsequent October Revolution turns the tide in his favor.
