Tempo Records (UK)

Tempo Records was a British jazz record label that was founded in 1946.

The record label Tempo Records belonged to the recently founded label Esquire of the most important record labels of the English Nachrkriegsjazz. After it was established in 1946 and first with shots of Traditional Jazz, among others was represented by Humphrey Lyttelton on the market that previously independent label was owned by UK Decca and released in the second half of the 1950s - beginning with the 25 - cm - album Meet Don Rendell 1955 - a series of albums of modern British jazz. Decca ran the label until 1960; in this period that the 40 LPs, including 10 in 25 cm format and also a number of hundred EPs.
