Ten thousand martyrs

The Legend of the 10,000 martyrs or legend of the 10,000 knights arose around the time of the Crusades. This legend has no historical truth. You should probably encourage the Crusaders in their faith and perseverance.

A Roman emperor (often Diocletian ) sent 9000 soldiers under the leader Achatius to Armenia to crush insurgents there. The soldiers but were faced with a ten-fold power. They were converted to the Christian faith and were able to defeat the enemy army with the help of God. When the Roman Emperor of the conversion heard this, he sent an angry barbarian army to destroy the new Christians. During the fighting also occurred thousands of barbarians to Christianity.
