Tenaya Lake

The Tenaya Lake is a lake in Yosemite National Park in the U.S. state of California. It lies between the Yosemite Valley and the Tuolumne Meadow. The lake was formed by the Tuolumne Glacier. Effluents of the lake is the Tenaya Creek, which flows through the Tenaya Canyon in Yosemite Valley. The lake lies at an altitude of 2484 m above sea level. The lake was named after Tenaya, the chief of the known as Yosemite with neighboring tribes Ahwahnee ( Ahwahneechee ).
