Tendency

The tendency (Latin tendere - stretch ) ( adj: tendentious, a trend seen letting partisan colored) describes a pursuit, a passion and an accumulation of events in a certain direction and suggests next to the description of the observable facts of the past often the outlook for the indefinite future. A tendency may increase, be stable or falling pronounced.

In meteorology, the tendency is for example like shown to give an indication of the coming weather. The same applies to the economy or statistics.
