The Teneguía is a volcano on the southern tip of the island of La Palma. The 439 -meter high cinder cone was built in 1971.

Geographical location

The Teneguía located in the municipality Fuencaliente south of the village and the hamlet of Los Fuencaliente Quemados. It forms the southern end of the Cumbre Vieja volcano chain that runs through the island of La Palma by the Taburiente from north to south.

Outbreak

The first outbreak started on 26 October 1971. The last eruption took place after three and a half weeks on the 24th day, November 18, 1971. Between, there were dozens of events. Vegetation
