Tenjin Shin'yō-ryū

The Tenjin Shinyo - ryu (Japanese天神 真 杨 流) is a traditional Jiu Jitsu System ( koryū Jujutsu ), which is also still practiced by small groups in different countries.

It was developed by Iso Matauemon in 1810 on the basis of Akiyama Yoshin - ryū and Shin -no- Shindo - ryu. The world's most famous representative of the school were probably Kanō Jigorō, which developed the now more famous Kodokan Judo by the knowledge that he there and in other Jiu Jitsu schools (eg Kito - ryū ) acquired towards the end of the 19th century, and Ueshiba Morihei, the founder of Aikido.
