The Tennessee State University (also called TSU) is an African American government, historic University in Nashville, Tennessee. It was founded in 1912. In its present form it has existed for the merger of the Tennessee State University with the former University of Tennessee at Nashville in 1979. Currently, here are 8,748 students enrolled. In addition to the main campus, there is the Avon Williams Campus in downtown Nashville.
