Tennis Europe

Tennis Europe (short TE ) is the European umbrella organization of tennis under the auspices of the International Tennis Federation. It was founded in 1976 as the European Tennis Association of Tennis 17 national associations in Europe. By 2002, the name change was made to the present name. With 49 member associations Tennis Europe is now the second largest association of ITF by the African Tennis Association, which counts 50 members.

The seat of the TE is in Basel, Switzerland. The association plays an important role in Europe in the implementation and organization of its own, independent of the ITF European competitions such as European Championships.

Events

Tennis Europe supports, organizes and is responsible for the implementation of more than 1,000 international tennis events in Europe.

Professional Tournaments

The Department of the Tennis Europe for professionals is the governing body by the ITF for all European tournaments of the ITF Pro Circuits. These include the Future tournaments in the men with a prize money of 10,000 to 15,000 dollars in prize money, as well as the women's competitions with prize money of 10,000 to 100,000 dollars.

Miscellaneous

Tennis Europe cooperates with the ITF in carrying out the ITF Junior Circuit for people under 18 years and in the organization of the European Championships in Football.
