Tente (toy)

Tente was produced in Spain Lego -like building block system, which was sold in the late 1970s and early 1980s in Europe.

Key differentiator for LEGO was that the round knobs were on the stones in the middle of a very small hole into which components could also be plugged, such as filigree flagpoles for ships. The stones had the same external dimensions as LEGO bricks. However, the systems were not compatible with each other, since the knobs were greater in Tente, ie, the wall thicknesses were thinner. In direct comparison to the LEGO plug-in system was less robust - the special were the components used, the more they tended to fall off again. Content, too, resembled the offer of Tente the LEGO; there were, among other vehicles, spaceships, robots, but also, unlike LEGO construction sets with military themes.

Chance Tente kits were available at least until the end of the 1980s in Germany.
