Teplodar

Teplodar (Ukrainian and Russian Теплодар ) is a city in southern Ukraine.

The village is located about 31 kilometers west of Odessa near Lake Baraboj ( Барабойське водосховище ) and forms within the Odessa Oblast, a separate entity ( district-free city - city under Oblastverwaltung ) and is completely surrounded by Rajon Biljajiwka.

The city was built from 1979 to 1986, since 1983 it has awarded the status of a settlement, on 1 January 1997 she was awarded the city status. It originated as a housing estate for the workers of the future nuclear power plant Odessa, which should occur near the city. After the Chernobyl disaster, the work on the power plant but were adjusted and stopped the further construction of residential buildings. Today, most people work in nearby Odessa.
