Tercet

A trio (Latin tertius, Italian Terzo: third ) refers to a three-line verse prosody. In the classical sonnet followed by two quartets, two thematic conflict escalating and / or releasing trios. A classic, consisting only of trios poem form is the rhymed tercet, as in Dante's Divina Commedia. Outside these strict forms the trio in rhyme poems is rather rare to encounter at Brentano, Liliencron, Heym, Trakl and Loerke.
