Terence Stamp

Terence Stamp ( born July 22, 1938 at the London Borough of Stepney ) is a British actor.

Life

His film debut was in Stamp Billy Budd (1962 ) by Peter Ustinov, a film adaptation of the novel Billy Budd by Herman Melville. For this role, Stamp has been nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor and won the Golden Globe Award for Best Young Actor. For his starring role in the film The Catcher he was honored at the 1965 Cannes Film Festival for Best Actor. In 1968, he impressed in Teorema - Geometry of Love by Pasolini as the beautiful bisexual guest. Stamp played in the movie prosecutors kisses you do not (1986 ) opposite Robert Redford, Debra Winger, and Daryl Hannah, in the Oscar-winning film Wall Street (1987 ) opposite Michael Douglas and Charlie Sheen.

In 1994 he stood for the film Priscilla - Queen of the Desert next to Hugo Weaving and Guy Pearce in front of the camera. With the film The Limey by Steven Soderbergh (1999) Stamp won a great respect for success. Stamp was nominated for best male lead for the Independent Spirit Award in 2000 and as the best British actor for the London Film Critic Circle Award.

In the television series Smallville, he gave the figure of Jor El 's voice.

In the 1960s, Jean Shrimpton and with Stamp was later romantically involved with Julie Christie. According to a rumor, the song Waterloo Sunset Kinks intended to refer to both, but this is disputed by guitarist Dave Davies.

Stamp married on New Year's Eve 2002 for the first time.
