Terenten

Terenten ( Terento Italian ) is a location on a high plateau overlooking the Val Pusteria municipality with 1730 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in South Tyrol (Italy).

Geography

The community Terenten, a total of 42.52 km ², is located in the lower Val Pusteria in South Tyrol, about halfway between the cities of Brunico and Bressanone. The municipality covers an upland terrace on the sunny side of the running east -west direction Pusteria and the north behind uplifting mountains. The community center Terenten (1160-1270 m asl ), the fraction Pichlern slightly east of it, as well as numerous other hamlets ( including pain, margins, Hohenbühl, Holder hole Talson, Sun Mountain, road, snow mountain and fief ) all lie scattered on the settlement terrace. History

The name Terenten derives from the Latin " torrens " or " torrentis " ( = torrent, torrent ). The economy in Terenten is influenced by the centuries-old tradition in agriculture. Even today, edit well over a hundred farms land.   • Domdekan Josef Schmid: Josef Schmid was born on February 26, 1810, the son of Michael Schmid, Wiedenhofbauer in Terenten, to the world.
