Teresa Parodi

Teresa Parodi ( Teresa Adelina Sellares, born December 30, 1947 in Corrientes ) is an Argentine Cantautora and composer.

Parodi had from the age of nine singing and guitar lessons at Blás Benjamín de la Vega. In 1979 she undertook as a guest of the Quartet by Astor Piazzolla on a tour of Argentina. The following year, her debut album, Teresa Parodi appeared desde Corrientes. On their second album Canto a los hombres del pan duro (1983 she sang songs on texts by Jorge Calvetti, Manuel J. Castilla, Jorge Luis Borges, Leopoldo Marechal, Francisco Madariaga and others.

In 1984, she took first in the festival Nacional de Folclore in Cosquín and advanced the album El purhajhei de Teresa Parodi out, with whom she won the gold, platinum and double platinum record. Their next two albums presented Parodi before at concerts at the Luna Park. In 1988 she took up with Antonio Tarragó Ros Letra y música. They undertook a concert tour of the United States and participated in Mercedes Sosa Show Sin Fronteras.

This was followed by concerts in Europe, Cuba and Mexico. In 1991, Parodi part of the 11th Festival of Latin American Music in Utrecht and played an album with Roy Brown and Luis E. Mejía Godoy one. Con el alma en your album vilo (1994 ) was awarded by the Asociación de Cronistas del Espectáculo Album of the Year in the category female soloist. In 1995 she joined seven months successfully in the one- man play Como dicho al pasar, in the autumn of the year she was awarded the Premio Conex in platinum as Cantautora best of the decade. The Comisión Nacional de Folklore awarded her in 1999 for their life's work Camín de oro. 2000 undertook Parodi with Víctor Heredia, Leon Gieco, Julia Zenko and Alejandro Lerner a concert trip to Israel. For their album El canto que no cesa Parodi in 2002 was nominated for the Premio Gardel as the best folk artist.
