The Tereshka, even Large or Bolschaja Tereshka (Russian ( Большая ) Терешка, alternative spelling Russian Терёшка ) is a 213 km long right tributary of the Volga River in the European part of Russia.

Course

The Tereshka rises in the heights in the southern Volga Ulyanovsk Oblast. First, it flows in an easterly direction in a narrow valley by the intensively farmed landscape. In Radischtschewo it turns off in predominantly southeasterly directions.

Shortly after, she reached the Saratov Oblast, where they pivoted around to the south and southwest, and briefly the course of the border for Ulyanovsk Oblast follows. In its further course the Tereshka flows mostly parallel to the Volga. In this area it has numerous oxbow lakes.

In the village of Studenowka the backwater of the Volgograd reservoir, which overprinted the lower reaches of Tereshka begins. In Usowka the river finally flows into the Volga.

The end of November / early December to late March / early April frozen river is a popular destination for boaters and anglers in the summer.
