Teresva

Teresva (Ukrainian and Russian Тересва; rarely Theresiental German, Slovak Teresva, Hungarian Taracköz ) is an urban-type settlement in the Western Ukraine ( Transcarpathian Oblast, Rajon Tyachiv ) about 10 kilometers east of the city Tyachiv.

The approximately 7500 inhabitants place is situated in Theißtal at the confluence of the River Teresva with the Tisza.

History

The town was first mentioned in writing in 1336. In 1910 he was in the Kingdom of Hungary in the county Máramaros. After the end of World War 1 he came to the newly created Czechoslovakia (as part of the Carpathian Ukraine) and was ceded to the end of the second world war to the USSR. In 1957 the place obtained the status of an urban-type settlement.

Since 1872, the place is also connected to the railway ( railroad Debrecen Sighetu Marmaţiei ), 1887 nor was added in the forest railway Tereswatal.
