Tereza Marinova

Teresa Marinowa ( Bulgarian Тереза ​​Маринова, English transcription Tereza Marinova, . Born September 5, 1977 in Pleven ) is a retired Bulgarian triple jumper.

In 1995 and 1996 she won the World Championships in the class of juniors. With 14.62 meters she holds the junior world record in the triple jump.

The European Athletics Championships 1998 in Budapest, she won the bronze medal behind Olga Vasdeki (GRE ) and Sarka Kašpárková (CZE ). The competition was very exciting, in the end she was having a width of 14.50 meters, only five centimeters behind the winner.

She celebrated her biggest success at the Summer Olympics in Sydney in 2000, when she won the gold medal, ahead of Tatyana Lebedeva (RUS ) and Olena Howorowa (UKR ).

At the World Athletics Championships in Edmonton in 2001, she won a bronze medal again, behind Lebedeva and the Cameroonian Françoise Mbango Etone (CAM).

Marinowa ended her career in 2008 after an injury could not qualify for the Olympic Games in Beijing. At a height of 1.73 m her competition weight was 56 kg.
