Teri Tordai

Teri Tordai (also Teri Torday and Terry Torday, born December 28, 1941 in Debrecen) is a Hungarian actress.

Life and work

Teri Tordai received early ballet training and took acting lessons in 1960 at the television and film academy in Budapest. After graduating in 1964, she played at the National Theatre and at the Comedy Theatre.

Already in 1962 she gained film experience, in 1965 she starred in Holiday with Piroshka first time in a German movie where they paradoxically embodied a German in Hungary. Under the name " Terry Torday " she mimed the title character of Franz Antel's successful six-part landlady of the Lahn- film series. In their wake Teri Tordai was for some years a good busy actress in various German and Austrian productions. Several times she was the dangerous seductress of very young ( Monika and the sixteen- crimes after school ) to very old men (Heinz Rühmann in The Captain). In the 1980s she played under István Szabó sculptor Lenie in Mephisto and Colonel Redl in the Countess Festetich. Successfully she was a grandmother in Márta Mészáros 's Piroshka and the Wolf (1988). Since the mid- 1980s, she has worked mainly on the stage.
