Terlipressin

Terlipressin is a synthetic analogue of vasopressin. It is used for the complications of cirrhosis, because there is an increase in systemic vascular resistance triggers by its vasoconstrictor effect, whereby the portal venous pressure and thus the risk of esophageal varices reduced. There are also indications that its use also in septic shock after resuscitation or treatment may be beneficial.
