Terminal Tower

The Terminal Tower is a skyscraper in Cleveland, Ohio. He belongs to a complex of buildings, the Tower City Center. Actually, the tower should only be inaugurated in 1930, together with the complex, but first tenants moved in 1928, so that this year can be considered as the date of completion. At that time (1928 ) it was the second tallest building in the world after the Woolworth Building in New York. If one disregards the skyscrapers in New York, the Terminal Tower was the tallest skyscraper in the world, until he was dominated in 1953 by the Lomonosov University in Moscow.

An observation platform is present but is currently open only on weekends for visitors. This is justified formally so that the visitors would make you nervous office workers during working hours. Since 1930, the skyscraper is also used as a lighthouse, by flashing a strobe light at its tip. Although the lighthouse became obsolete in the 1960s, the building is to this day every night in different colors illuminated, such as white-red at the Polish National Day, because in Cleveland and around many Polish immigrants live.
