Terra-3

Terra -3 is a laser test center, which is located on the Kazakh missile test site Saryschagan.

Development

The development of laser weapons began in 1964 in the Soviet Union. The experimental design bureau worked as Vympel first of these weapons. In the 1970s, the construction of the Terra -3 complex research began. It should missile defense or anti- satellite weapons ( ASAT or ABM ) are being developed, but even the high-energy ruby laser and carbon dioxide laser of Astrofisika that were installed, were not sufficient to be used against ballistic missiles can.
