Terra Alta

The comarca of Terra Alta is located in the province of Tarragona of the Autonomous Community of Catalonia (Spain). The community association has an area of ​​741 km ² and 12,231 inhabitants (2009 ).

Location

Terra Alta is located in the southwestern part of Catalonia, about 60 km west of the provincial capital city of Tarragona. The community association is bordered on the northeast by the comarca of Ribera d' Ebre, in the southeast of Baix Ebre and to the west by the Autonomous Community of Aragon. Together with the Comarcas Baix Ebre, Montsiā Ribera d'Ebre and forms the region 's territory Terres de l' Ebre.

The northern region of Terra Alta is situated in a fertile plateau, the Zentralkatalonischen Valley, with only a few bumps up to 550 m altitude.
