Terrier
Terrier is the name for various mainly small to medium sized dog breeds. Terriers were originally hunting dogs that were bred to foxes and badgers to drive them out of their subterranean construction. The name terrier is derived from the French word terre ( earth). Today's terrier breeds are bred for different purposes of use, many of the races, but not all, show a strong hunting behavior, in some there are different strains of dogs for hunting use or family dogs.
