Terri genes sediments derived from erosion of rocks on the mainland, which originate from an environment above the earth's surface ( Pinet, 79). Terri genes sediments consist of sand, silt and clay, which are washed into rivers into the sea. The composition is usually dependent on the rock, which eroded. The deposition of sediment is largely confined to the continental shelf. ( Pinet, 79-83 )
