Territoire de Belfort

The Territoire de Belfort [ ˌ teʀi twaʀdəbɛlfɔ ː ʀ ] is a French department of atomic number 90 It is in the east of the country in the region of Franche -Comté, Belfort is the main town.

Geography

The Territoire de Belfort is bordered to the north at the height of the Ballon d'Alsace (French Ballon d' Alsace) for a few kilometers to the department of Vosges, on the east by the department of Haut-Rhin, in the south to the Swiss canton of Jura, on the southwest by the Doubs and to the west by the department of Haute- Saône.

History

The area of the department was the most south-westerly part of 1871 the department of Haut-Rhin.
