Territorial lord

As a sovereign one called since the early Middle Ages the holder of sovereignty, the Monarch. He had the supreme power or sovereignty of a country. This was usually a certain birthright or feudal law as an owner or "administrator " of an existing or constituent dominion of fixed member of the nobility or the clergy.

In the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation, the rulers of the individual member states, the kingdom stands ( not the emperor ) were the rulers of the territories governed by them.

The sovereign was usually the coins and court in his territory. Prerequisite for this term is the internalized linking ownership, land ownership and domination in general understanding of the law.
