Terry Date

Terry Date ( born January 31, 1956 in Lansing, Michigan) is an American music producer and sound engineer.

Life and work

After college attendance in Idaho Terry Date moved in 1979 to Seattle, Washington. He worked with local bands, even before the local grunge scene became internationally known.

He specialized soon in the alternative rock and metal genre. After 1989, the Metal Church album produced Blessing in Disguise, he also got the chance to work with other well-known bands like Soundgarden and Mother Love Bone. Prong, White Zombie and overkill booked his services as well as Pantera, for their best-known albums, he is responsible.

Crucial also shaped the sound of the Deftones, for which he produced four plates. In Nu- metal genre, he is also known thanks to his work with Limp Bizkit and Korn. Meanwhile Date has extended its range into other subgenres such as progressive metal ( Dream Theater ) or post grunge ( Staind ), but also completely different musical areas ( Snoop Dogg ). Also on the Smashing Pumpkins album Zeitgeist Terry collaborated Date.
