Terry Jones

Terry Jones ( Terence Graham Parry Jones actually; born 1 February 1942 in Colwyn Bay, Wales ) is a British comedian, film director and writer. He became known as a member of Monty Python, to which he belonged from 1969 to 1983.

Life

He studied at the University of Oxford English and History and attended the Experimental Theatre Club. After his graduation Jones came mid-60s for British television and was responsible for shows such as The Frost Report and Do not adjust your set along with his friend Michael Palin. Jones also wrote the screenplays for many other television shows, including The Complete and Utter for History of Britain.

Private Jones is highly committed to environmental protection. He wrote several books in which he expresses himself often socially critical. So he published eg 1997 along with Douglas Adams the science fiction novel Starship Titanic.

Early 2003, Jones caught a published in the British Observer letter attention, in which he took up the then Iraq conflict satirical and pulled the logic of U.S. President George W. Bush ridiculed.

Less known is his work as a children's book author. Among other things, he wrote the books Nicobobinus, How the brave Tom set out to be squire and the continuation of How the squire Tom did a handstand, his heart lost and almost invented the water rinse. The latter two are historical novels that churning with slapstick and audacity.

He is also co-author of a kind book on the history of the Crusades, as well as a presenter and author of the four-part BBC documentary series Crusades of 1995: Crusades - Pilgrims in Arms ( Crusades - Pilgrims in Arms ) Crusades - Jerusalem ( Crusades - Jerusalem ), Holy War and destruction.

In 1970 he married Alison Telfer and has two children with her (* 1974 and * 1976). The marriage broke up in 2004, when Terry Jones fell in love with the young Swede Anna Söderström, but was not divorced. End of October 2006 was diagnosed with colon cancer Jones, who made an operation necessary. In early September 2009, Jones and Söderström parents of a daughter.
