Terry L. Bruce

Terry Lee Bruce ( born March 25, 1944 in Olney, Illinois ) is a former American politician. Between 1985 and 1993 he represented the state of Illinois in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Terry Bruce attended until 1962, the Richland High School in Olney and then studied until 1966 at the University of Illinois in Urbana. After a subsequent law degree from the same university 1969, he was admitted to the bar. At the same time he proposed as a member of the Democratic Party launched a political career. Between 1971 and 1984 he was a member of the Illinois Senate. In 1978, he ran unsuccessfully for Congress yet.

In the congressional elections of 1984, Bruce was then in the 19th electoral district of Illinois in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Republican Dan Crane on January 3, 1985. After three re- elections, he was able to complete in Congress until January 3rd, 1993 four legislative sessions. He has not been nominated by his party for re-election in 1992.

After the end of his time in the U.S. House of Representatives Terry Bruce served as Vice President of a regional telephone company. He now lives back in his native Olney.
