Terry Sanderson (writer)

Terry Sanderson ( born 1946 ) is a leading UK secularist and at the same time activists of the homosexual movement. He is an author and journalist. Sanderson since 2006 has been president of the National Secular Society and long-time columnist for the Gay Times.

Life

Sanderson was born into a mining family in South Yorkshire. He outed himself as gay at 17. His parents found out about it after they read an interview Sanderson in a local newspaper, in which he spoke about a campaign for equal rights for homosexuals .. After Sanderson moved in the early 1970s to London, he worked for Woman's Own.
