This applies to those who are preparing for the priesthood, especially in their study of philosophy and theology. The Tertiate serves the renewal and deepening of its original appeal. For this study, the participants - usually 8 to 10 Jesuits headed by an ' instructor ' - the spiritual foundations of the Order, make again the thirty -day retreat and times undergo testing in special pastoral or social situations ( " experiments") in the tradition of Ignatius of Loyola.
