Tertius Zongo

Tertius Zongo ( born May 18, 1957 in Koudougou, Upper Volta, now Burkina Faso) is a politician from the West African nation of Burkina Faso. 4 June 2007 to 18 April 2011, he held the post of Prime Minister of Burkina Faso, as his successor Luc Adolphe Tiao - was appointed.

Zongo studied economics in Dakar ( Senegal) and Nantes ( France). Between 1995 and 2000 he held a number of ministerial posts, including those of the Minister of Finance. For several years he was the representative of Burkina Faso to the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund and General Secretary of the Burkinabe Industry and Commerce. In 2002 he entered the diplomatic service. Last before his appointment as Prime Minister, he served as Ambassador of Burkina Faso in the USA.
