Tertry, Somme

Tertry is a commune with 179 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Somme in the Picardie region of northern France. The municipality is part of the Canton of Ham, and is part of the Communauté de communes du Pays Hamois.

Geography

The municipality is situated on both sides of the river Omignon, the settlement lies on the right ( northern ) bank. The municipal area extends north to the Chaussée Brunehaut, today's street department D1029 (formerly N29 ), and in the south to Autoroute A29.

History

In Tertry the Battle of Tertry took place in 687 instead, in the Pippin the Middle, the house Meier of Austrasia, the house Meier of Neustria, Berchar, suggested what Pippin was the home Meier of the entire Frankish Empire.

Tertry was awarded the Croix de guerre 1914-1918.
