Tesfaye Jifar

Tesfaye Jifar (born 23 April 1976) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner.

In 1999 and 2000 he finished third in the world championship in the half marathon, 2001 Second with only one second behind Haile Gebrselassie.

At the Amsterdam Marathon 1999 he performed as a second with 2:06:49 on an Ethiopian record. He was fourth in the London Marathon, presented at the New York City Marathon with 2:07:43 on the former course record and won at the Corrida de São Silvestre Internacional in São Paulo in 2001.

Jifar is blind in the right eye since the age of 14.
