Tessanne Chin

Tessanne Chin ( born September 23, 1985 in Kingston) is a Jamaican pop singer. She won in 2013 the fifth season of the American singing talent show The Voice.

Biography

Tessanne Chin's parents played in a band and she even attended a performing arts school. At twelve, she went to England for some time. Back in Jamaica, she was a singer of the rock band Mile High. She left after some time the band to pursue a solo career. For three years she was accompanying singer Jimmy Cliff and worked for artists like Ky- Mani Marley and Diana King. For Patti Labelle, Keyshia Cole and Mary J. Blige, she was engaged as the opening act. Finally, she mentioned an album titled In Between Words, published in 2010.

2013 Chin took part in the talent show The Voice in the USA. She convinced the blind auditions all four coaches and chose the team of Adam Levine. In the individual rounds, she chose two songs from their homeland by Jimmy Cliff and Bob Marley. She had no outstanding appearance up to the semifinal, first by her performance of the Simon and Garfunkel - Bridge over Troubled Water Classic she came into the favorite role. The song came after the semi-final show at number one on the iTunes charts. In the final, they scored with two other classics - I Have Nothing by Whitney Houston and Let It Be by the Beatles - and won the squadron.
