Tessera

Tessera (Latin for square; plural: tesserae, the word is derived from the ancient Greek τέσσαρες / tessares - "four" ) is the name for the small square tile of stone, ceramic, brass, lead, leg, terracotta or glass, with which you interpret mosaics on floors.
