Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language

The Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language ( TOCFL, Chinese华 语文 能力 测验, Pinyin Huá yǔ wén Neng lì cè Yan, formerly known as the Test of Proficiency - Huayu, TOP) is language test for Mandarin Chinese as a foreign language. It is comparable to the Hanyu Shuiping kaoshi, is contrary to this but operated by the Republic of China.

History

The test was introduced in November 2005 and performed for the first time by the Chinese Language Testing Center. In January 2007, the Center for today's SC -TOP has been renamed.

This is a test by the Steering Committee for the Test Of Proficiency - Huayu (Chinese国家 华语 测验 推动 工作 委员会, pinyin guojia huáyǔ cèyàn tuīdònggōngzuò wěiyuánhuì, SC - TOP). The committee under the Ministry of Education of the Republic of China.

Test sites

The test can be conducted at several test sites in Taiwan. International perform several partner institutes by the test. Survey

The TOCFL consists of the categories of reading, listening, speaking and writing, only reading and listening comprehension are tested abroad. Prior to the change, there were also four levels, although they were named differently. To them, preparatory vocabulary lists were made available:

In the next higher level of test you on words of low test levels are checked, so that when the Advanced exam vocabulary are checked from a vocabulary of up to 8600 words.

Comparison with HSK
