The Teufel GmbH is a German manufacturer of loudspeakers and audio equipment with direct sales.

History

The company Teufel was founded in 1980 by Peter Tschimmel with a first store in Berlin. At first only kits speakers were manufactured. In 1983 the nationwide sale of Teufel kits began; from 1990 has been finished speakers were offered. Devil took early home theater systems with multi-channel sound system into the program, licensed numerous 5.1 -channel systems for THX and expanded the portfolio with PC sound systems.

In 2006, Teufel GmbH was taken over by the American private equity firm The Riverside Company, which specializes in majority ownership. 2010 Devil was eventually taken over by the hg Capital.

Devil took over in 2010, the start-up company space field GmbH. The Portfolio was thus to find a solution for distributing digital audio files, such as MP3 extended within a LAN / WLAN.
