Teufenbach is a municipality with 700 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the judicial district or district Murau, Styria in Austria.

Geography

The place is located in the upper Mur Valley at an altitude of 760 m above sea level. A. and adjacent to Sankt Lorenzen bei Scheifling, Niederwölz, Frojach - Katschberg, Mariahof and Saint bubbles.

History

The place was first mentioned about 1000 years ago. The Lords of Teuffenbach belonged since the 13th century to the Styrian knighthood. The remaining Teufenbach branch of the family died out in the 17th century. " Castle Teuffenbach " was purchased in 1689 by Prince Schwarzenberg. In from 1549, built by Balthasar of Teufenbach Castle " New Teuffenbach " in place there is now a retirement home.

The municipality Teufenbach was built in 1849 /50.

Coat of arms

The award of the municipality coat of arms was made with effect from 1 May 1985. Coat Description: In a silver shield with two black bars on a dragon in confused colors.

Economy and infrastructure

Teufenbach among other business location for IBS, the brick manufacturer Pexider, the vehicle manufacturer Gsodam, carpentry Petautschnig, the drinks trade Girstmayr and the Electrical Trade Ofner. Furthermore, the Raiffeisen Bank Teufenbach - Oberwölz - St.Peter a Kammerberg headquartered in Teufenbach. Listed in Teufenbach are the carpentry Galler, the ventilation company Wilfried Pachl Inger, department store catering Karl Krenn, Sawmill Lercher, the locksmith Patrick Mohr, the distillery Seifter, and the forestry companies Brunner.

The medical care is subject to Dr. Horst Geigl, he supervised the renovated and extended nursing home.
