Texas Wildcatters

The Texas Wildcatters were an American Hockey franchise from Beaumont, Texas. The venue of the Wildcatters was the Ford Arena.

History

The franchise was founded in the summer of 2003 and took his game mode in the ECHL. Head coach was Robert Dirk, who played in his active career in the NHL. The Wildcatters played a disappointing first season with only 50 points they placed themselves relegated to the last rank of the Central Division. In the following season the Wildcatters undercut these benefits and were able to record only 45 points. The team from the 2005/ 06 and took again a year later at the ECHL part. The performance of the Wildcatters improved tremendously, with 91 points in the regular season closed to the season in second place in the Southern Division and managed for the first time from a place in the play-offs. In the second round of the play -offs, the Gwinnett Gladiators were defeated in four games. The third round was about even, in six games, the Wildcatters but the Florida Everblades documents. In the season 2007/ 08 succeeded the Wildcatters during the regular season once again to increase their yield point. With 115 points, the Texans won the first Southern Division and won the league along with the Cincinnati Cyclones the most points. In the first play-off round of the Mississippi Sea Wolves were defeated in four games, but were subject to the Texans in the second round just under the Columbia Inferno in five games. Then the franchise was disbanded and moved to Ontario, California, where a new franchise under the name Ontario Reign was founded.
