Texmaker

Texmaker is a platform independent Unicode editor for the creation of LaTeX documents. The software is released under the GNU General Public License.

The editor is particularly aimed at LaTeX beginners, where the production of documents should be facilitated with the help of assistants.

Key Features

Texmaker can compile and view documents. To facilitate its work, the program has syntax highlighting and a wizard for easy creation of tables. Special characters can be inserted automatically by mouse-click as a LaTeX command and mandatory elements of a LaTeX document using wizards. Texmaker supports Unicode and contains an integrated display of DVI, PostScript, PDF and HTML files. Means SyncTeX Texmaker is able to jump on both the integrated display in the generated document by clicking on the appropriate location in the source file, and vice versa, from the source file targeted to the appropriate section in the generated document.

Instead of project management, the program provides a session manager on, with the list of currently open files are saved in a session file, and can be reloaded when you restart a shortcut. One can define the main file of a larger project in the program master file, which is then translated always independent of the currently opened.

In addition to syntax highlighting, there is a word completion, which copes with the usual TeX commands. It also mandatory brackets will also be inserted, and it can be changed quickly between the arguments by ↹ (Tab). Completion can also supplement references and citations.
