Textulariida

Textularia sp.

The Textulariida are an order bearing housing, meeresbewohnender protozoa from the group of foraminifera.

Features

The species of the order form agglutinated housing, ie housing from the collected particles, which are anchored in low -magnesium calcite (<5 mol% Mg). The grooved ( = canaliculaten ) housings are initially trochospiral, three or two rows, then later two - or single-breasted.

System

The order is fossil occupied since the Middle Jurassic ( Bajocian ). Their modern relatives comprises a superfamily ( family selection):

  • Superfamily Textulariacea Family Textulariidae
  • Family Eggerellidae
  • Family Valvulinidae
  • Family Pseudogaudryinidae
