Textures (band)

Textures is a metal band from the Netherlands Tilburg. Their style is characterized by polyrhythms but, increasingly, of melodic elements. Enter Shikari describe their style as Polyrhythmic Metal Madness.

Band History

Textures were founded in 2001 in Tilburg. Their first release was followed in 2003 with the self-produced album " Polars ", through which the label Listenable Records became aware of the band. They received the Dutch Essent Award, which is awarded to young musicians, and appeared in a commercial for Nokia. After Eric Kalsbeek had replaced the singer Pieter Verpaalen, took Textures 2006 her second album " Drawing Circles " on. The following year, the bassist Remko Tielemans came for the illness have alighted Dennis Aarts the band. With " Silhouettes " reached Textures first time in 2008, the Dutch charts. The Dutch VPRO took her title Awake into its compilation VPRO Song of the Year 2008.
