Teyssières

Teyssières is a commune with 81 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the Rhône-Alpes region in the Drome region; it belongs to the canton in the arrondissement of Nyons Dieulefit.

Geography

The municipality is located in the headwaters of Teyssières Lez, about ten kilometers north of Nyons and 33 kilometers southeast of Montelimar

Neighboring communities of Teyssières are Montjoux the northwest, Vesc in the northeast, Valouse in the east, Saint- Ferréol - Trente -Pas in the southeast, Condorcet, and Aubres Ventarol in the south and Rousset -les Vignes and La Pègue in the West.

History

First mentioned as Castrum de Theycheriis in 1294th At that time, the common property of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem ( Malta - Coming of Le Poet-Laval ) and the d' Isoard family from Aix -en- Provence, it got to the houses later Durand, Caritat ( Dukes of Condorcet ), and finally Rigot de Montjoux.
