Tha Pla District

Amphoe Tha Pla ( Thai อำเภอ ท่าปลา ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) of the Uttaradit province. The Uttaradit Province is located in the northern region of Thailand.

Geography

Neighboring districts are ( from east clockwise): the Amphoe Fak Tha, Nam Pat, Thong Saen Khan and Mueang Uttaradit Province Uttaradit, the Amphoe Den Chai, Sung Men and Mueang Phrae Province Phrae and Amphoe Na Muen in Nan Province.

The main river of the district is Maenam Nan ( Nan River ), which impounds a 250-acre man-made lake with the Queen Sirikit Dam.

The Maenam Pat (Pat River ) opens just behind the Queen Sirikit Dam in the Maenam Nan.

Economy

In the district of Tha Pla, among others, cashew nuts are produced. The sun-dried and roasted in ovens powered by solar energy nuts are a five-star OTOP product.

History

Amphoe Tha Pla was originally part of Nan Province. Since 1923 it belongs to the province of Uttaradit.

Attractions

  • National Parks: Lam Nam Nan National Park ( Thai: อุทยานแห่งชาติ ลำน้ำ น่าน ) - of 624 468 rai (about 999 km ²) large park is also partly in Amphoe Mueang Phrae. The Queen Sirikit Dam is also in the National Park.

Management

Amphoe Tha Pla is divided into eight subdistricts (tambon ), which are divided further into 84 villages ( Muban ).

There are three small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Tha Pla ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ท่าปลา ) consists of parts of the tambon Tha Pla.
  • Ruam Chit ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ร่วม จิต ) consists of parts of the tambon Ruam Chit.
  • Charim ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล จริม ) consists of the whole tambon Charim.

In addition, there are seven " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
