Thalexweiler is a district of Lebach in the district of Saarlouis, in Saarland. Until the end of 1973 Thalexweiler was a separate municipality.

The place is in the middle of Saarland in Theeltal.

History

The social structure was characterized in the past mainly by agriculture and mining industry. Until the 1970s, the agriculture sideline was formative for the local village life. The enormous structural change in the mining industry had in recent decades also mean that many young people have left the village to - often outside of the Saarland - to find their center of life.

1902/ 03 was looking for a typhoid epidemic home to the place, which was probably widespread in particular about the inn Linnebach.

As part of the Saarland administrative and territorial reform the then independent municipality Thalexweiler, which belonged to the county Ottweiler, the municipality Lebach has been assigned. The last mayor was Helmut Schneider.

On August 8, 1979, a U.S. fighter jet type phantom from Spangdahlem crashed in the village. Despite the massive damage only nine people were slightly injured.

Church of St. Alban's

The present church of St. Alban's in the core comes from 1784 and is built in Baroque style. In 1967 the church was enlarged, the style largely maintained. The church tower dates from the 15th century and remains of a previous church of the Gothic, which was located on the opposite side of the tower and pointed to the east.
